The criteria for the Industrial Composability of packaging are set out in the Australian Standard AS4736 and Home Composability AS5810-2010.

AS4736 and AS5810-2010 requires the compostable plastics to disintegrate after 12 weeks and completely biodegrade after twelve months.
That means that 90 percent or more of the plastic material will have been converted to CO2.
The remaining share is converted into water and biomass – i.e. valuable compost.
Unfortunately, 35008 and 35009 are 80um and this doesn't meet the Home Compostable standard in Australia, however its compostable nature doesn’t change in comparison to the other sizes.

The Australian Home Compostable standard requires more than 90% of the plastic mass to convert into biomass, carbon dioxide and water within 12 months, and not leave any harmful residues.

ABL's 35008 and 35009 mailers take more than 12 months to achieve the 90% target due to the thickness of the bag, as compared to the smaller size bags that are 63um.
A general storage environment usually lasts 6-10 months from the production date.

Properly stored, its shelf life can extend to more than 12 months.

To maximize shelf life, order every 3 to 6 months.
The compostable bags should be kept in a clean and dry place far away from sunshine and other heat resources, and keeping away from high pressure and pests.

We recommend always keeping the carton boxes sealed properly until bag consumption.
Once a carton box is open, consume the bags ASAP.
The best thing about them is that they still decompose in landfills.
Unfortunately, landfills still produce methane due to the nature of the process.

To take full advantage of the environmental benefits of our products, we encourage our clients to compost them.

It takes about 12 months for our products to break down.
The traditional plastic shipping mailers, on the other hand, take 400 years or more to break down, and still emit deadly methane gas into the atmosphere

DELIVERY


Delivery is free for all orders over $100 + GST to most of the Gold Coast, Tweed, Logan, Yatala, and Brisbane area (excludes Brisbane City and other unusual areas).
Please note: If you are unsure if your delivery address falls inside our Free Delivery area, please contact our office to confirm.
Please note: There are some areas where couriers won't go at a reasonable price. It is best to check with us if your delivery location is free of charge.

Occasionally, your online shopping cart may not be able to easily calculate your shipping requirements. This is called Manual Shipping.

In this case, you will be notified on checkout that your freight charges will need to be calculated separately.

Once you place your order we will get back to you promptly via email with a freight quotation for your order, if you do not wish to proceed we will refund the total amount of your order.

For customers inside our FIS area (delivery via ABL truck), please submit your order before 1:30pm to ensure prompt next day delivery.

Customers whose orders travel via external courier, please ensure your order is placed by 2pm to guarantee next day despatch.

This is based on Queensland EST & excludes custom or special product order.

Please note: We are unable to pre-arrange a delivery time due to our ever changing delivery runs.

RETURNS


If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with any purchases you make from this site simply call or email us within 31 days from receipt of the goods. ABL will not accept returns unless we have been notified in this manner.

We will arrange the return of your purchase and replace your order or refund you*. Goods must be returned in the condition you received them.

Return freight will be at ABL’s cost only when there has been an error on ABL’s part. If the error is ours we will cover freight charges for the return of goods. If the fault is not ABL's we will not cover return shipping or refund the original shipping costs.

Please note that special orders and custom made lines will only be replaced or refunded if the error is ours.

Of course, ABL is bound by relevant legislation under the Trade Practices Act (1974). These guidelines are for the protection of your customer rights. Our terms do not override the provisions given by the Trade Practices Act (1974)

*Some returns may incur a 10% re-stocking fee which will be deducted from your refund amount. You will be advised of this when arranging the return.
